LIBERTY LAKE, WASHINGTON--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) - Hunt Mining Corp. (the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:HMX), is pleased to announce a new discovery at the Corporation's flagship La Josefina precious metals project in Santa Cruz Argentina. Preliminary surface-sampling results, which include 6,299 gram per ton Silver and 13.9 grams per ton Gold, confirm wide-spread precious metal mineralization which adds more than 8 kilometers of silver-gold bearing structures to the growing portfolio of targets yet to be drill-tested at La Josefina. The Corporation controls more than 250,000 hectares of prospective mineral concessions in Santa Cruz Province Argentina.
Surface sampling was initiated in the newly defined "Sorpresa" zone in March of this year and has included continuous chip, channel and sub-crop sampling. Mineralization in the area is manifested within, and adjacent to, silicified faults and breccias ranging from 0.5 meters to more than 6.0 meters in width. The Sorpresa zone encompasses an area covering two square kilometers exhibiting a series of sub-parallel siliceous structures with a cumulate strike length of more than 8 kilometers.
Significant assays include (all grades listed in grams per ton. All samples were collected perpendicular to structures at widths ranging from 0.4 meters to 1.8 meters):

Grab samples may not represent average grades on the property.
Highlighted assays were taken from 94 assays completed to date. The samples were collected from variable intervals based on outcrop availability, distributed along 8 kilometers of structures found within an area measuring 1.5 kilometers by 2 kilometers. Within this sample population, 72 samples assayed greater than 1 gram per ton gold and 22 samples assayed greater than 100 grams per ton silver.
La Josefina Project Manager Jorge Garay stated "We have known that the Sorpresa area was highly prospective for some time based on cursory work done there in the past. We are extremely pleased to see the strength and size of this newly defined mineralized system. This discovery greatly increases the overall potential of the property, which was already very impressive. As we continue to build resources and bring La Josefina closer to production the Sorpresa area will likely add significantly to the final precious metal totals".
Work continues at Sorpresa with systematic channel and trench sampling as well as detailed geologic mapping designed to ready the area for drill-testing scheduled for later in 2010
